BIOGRAPHY
Juanita “Janie” Jaimez was born and raised in Harlingen, TX. She is a graduate of Harlingen High School South.
Janie received a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas Pan American. She then went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law and became licensed to practice law in the state of Texas in 2012.
After law school Janie worked at the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office for 8 years. While there she held many positions including working as prosecutor in County Court’s 1,2, and 3 and a felony prosecutor in the 107th District Court. She also served as Chief Juvenile Prosecutor and Misdemeanor Intake Section Chief.
In 2020, Janie was elected Justice of the Peace and in January of 2021 she took office as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5 Place 3 of Cameron County, Texas. As Justice of the Peace she presides over Class C Misdemeanors, small claims cases, landlord/tenant disputes, inquests and more. In April 2021, Janie founded the Law Office of Juanita “Janie” Jaimez, P.L.L.C.
